A short list of Land Sailing Links was submitted by Bob Dill of the North American Land Sailing Organization (NALSA):
Nord Embroden's article "Landsailing in America" covers the 1950's to 1978.

The paper written by Bob Dill on the "Iron Duck Project" in 2003 for the Chesapeake Sailing Yacht Symposium broadly covers what it takes to go fast as well as a history of sailing speeds on dirt and ice.

Details of "Richard's Jenkin's Record Run" can be found at:

NALSA (The North American Land Sailing Association) has held a speed event at Ivanpah Dry Lake around Thanksgiving since roughly 1990. This event is for all boats, not just the fastest groups. Speeds were first measured by timing trap and then radar and now by GPS.
