Hello Fellow Windsurfers,

The winds have finally returned to Lake Okabena in Worthington, Minnesota!!

The Wind Forecast for Tuesday September 20 is excellent, with base winds of 26 mph, and gusts of 36 mph from the Northwest.

These are great speed sailing conditions, and the best winds we have had in a long time.

This has been an unusual year, with a late spring and the most windless summer on record.

We look forward to lots of high winds and great speeds for the remainder of the 2011 Season.

We award the highest prize money in North American GPS Speed Sailing, with $1000 CASH to the fastest  speeds recorded before October 15. We will also pay $500 for 2nd Place, $250 for 3rd, $125 for 4th, and $75 for 5th.

We will also pay $500 for the best Alpha Speed on Lake Okabena in 2011. Alpha Racing is a measure of average speed through a 500 meter jibe (complete 180 turn at high speed). This sounds complicated, but is easily calculated by the GPS Speed Software.

This is the highest Prize Money in North American Speed Sailing!

So far for 2011, our 2011 Rankings are as follows:
Ed Melechson 29.83 knots
Adam Anderson 29.31 knots
Jason Swanson 28.13 knots
Ken Gacke 24.94 knots
Piotr Waszcuk 21.04 knots
Richard Stirn 18.66 knots (This is a very impressive speed for Richard's first year)
